Château de Sarzay

"Wonderful old remains of a fortified chateau, access to all floors including roof space which is spectacular for its rafters and construction. Very atmospheric countryside, can imagine that it hasn't changed much in 500 years. Well worth the 7 euro entrance fee."

"A pretty old building right next to Castle Sarzay. A friendly elderly couple welcomed us , we felt at home in the house where we could use the kitchen for tea etc and enjoy the surrounding gardens. It is very nice ."

"A lovely 14th Century castle with period furniture and tools just left in it. Very authentic like the people just left it in a hurry. A great look back into history and only 7 euros to enter. We were there for about and hour but we'll worth a visit. We had the place to ourselves and were just left to wander with an information sheet which comes in all languages."

"Really classic castle, nice to visit. Entrance is paid (adults €6, kids €4) you get a short description (several languages available, like english, Dutch, French,...) and you can visit the site freely. Walk around the area and visit the castle itself. It consists of 4 big towers, and an extra tower containing the stairs. On all 5 levels there is a lot to see interesting and... A little less interesting. Also you can visit the small chapel. Great view and nice work on restoring the whole castle. We (2 adults and kid) really enjoyed the visit!"
