"I stayed in the gite for four nights. The place was poorly maintained. The room I stayed in the gite was dusty and the shared toilets and bathroom floors were unclean. During my 4 nights stay, no cleaning was done in the public places. The room was poorly equipped - a tiny stained table with no chair and no night lamp. No toilet papers - need to ask everything . Asked for WiFi connection and never provided. The breakfast is unhealthy and the attitude of the service providers was impolite. Overall not a good experience and do not recommend as there are better choices and services available around the same place."
"After being denied at 22h at gite de la monta, we arrived at 22.45 at hotel Le Ristolas after a long 12-hour-walk-day over snowed mountains. The lady and kitchen-chef were about to close for the night but still accepted us, re-opened their kitchen to make us a warm meal and start prepping a room! They said it was their job to receive people who needed a place to sleep, even if they were about to close. After a nice, hot meal, we were brought to our room. Nice big room and a spacious bathroom. In the morning after a good breakfast buffet, she called a taxi for us so we could get back to our starting point where our car was located. If the lady is reading this, we are the 2 Flemish hikers :) Thanks for the effort! We really appreciated it!"
"Le Ristolas is in the centre of a tiny village of the same name tucked away in the Queyras. It's peaceful and calm, the dormitory accommodation is very comfortable and the food is top quality. There's a large lounge area with wood-burner and the bunk rooms are spacious. Highly recommended if you are hiking or skiing in the area. Considering how good the food is it is exceptional value for money. ||||The bar is well stocked with some good wines and interesting beers too.||||They also have hotel rooms if you'd prefer, I assume they cost a bit more."
"Rooms are clean and comfortable, mountain atmosphere with lots of wood.||Great location for hiking as trails are in walking distance or short distance by car.||Located in a tiny peaceful village, very welcoming owners. ||Meals are prepared family style with quality ingredients and very tasteful.||For lunch, traditional French picnics are available on request, very convenient since there is no store in this tiny village. Closest village with great stores is 10 minutes away by car."
"The hike from near the Col d'Agnel is steep and long. Upon reaching the valley, you will be tempted to stay in the first refuge that you see. Continue another 4 km to the tiny village of Ristolas.||Le Ristolas Gîte-Hôtel is owned and managed by a very pleasant and accommodating husband-wife team. Their meals are tasty and the atmosphere is convivial.||At 9:00 AM you can catch a regional bus (navette) to travel to nearby villages with more amenities than you will find in Ristolas . . . or via a free transfer, to any village in the Queyras.
